Terms of Service

Terms for the TidyDraft private beta.

Effective date: 18 October 2026

1. Introduction and acceptance

TidyDraft is a document-formatting tool created by Dafe O. Akpobome, based in Lagos, Nigeria.

These Terms govern the use of the TidyDraft Google Docs add-on and associated private beta services.

By installing or using TidyDraft, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy & Data policy.

If you use TidyDraft on behalf of an organisation, you should have the necessary permission or authority to do so.

2. Description of the service

TidyDraft helps identify and correct supported numbering, formatting and structural inconsistencies in documents.

Depending on the document and issues identified, TidyDraft may:

  • Correct supported numbering sequences.
  • Adjust supported clause hierarchy and nesting.
  • Make supported changes to document structure or formatting.
  • Identify issues requiring manual review.
  • Present specific proposed corrections for approval.

TidyDraft operates within Google Docs.

The current beta uses rule-based processing rather than generative AI.

Microsoft Word integration is planned but is not currently available.

TidyDraft is not designed to rewrite legal terms or replace professional document review.

3. Private beta status

TidyDraft is currently available to invited beta testers.

Access during this phase is free. Future pricing and commercial availability have not been announced.

As beta software, TidyDraft may contain errors, incomplete features or functionality that behaves differently across documents.

We may improve or modify the service during testing.

We may suspend, restrict or end beta access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security concerns, technical issues, legal requirements or the end of the beta programme.

Where reasonably practicable, affected testers will receive notice by email or through the website. Immediate restriction may be necessary in urgent cases.

4. User responsibilities

You are responsible for reviewing your documents and determining whether TidyDraft’s changes are suitable.

You should:

  • Review numbering and structural corrections before relying on the result.
  • Recheck cross-references affected by renumbering or clause movement.
  • Retain an appropriate copy or document version history.
  • Ensure you have permission to process the document.
  • Avoid using the service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

TidyDraft does not guarantee that every formatting or structural issue will be detected or corrected.

5. No legal advice

TidyDraft is a document-formatting and structural correction tool.

It does not provide legal advice, interpret contractual obligations or determine whether an agreement is enforceable, commercially appropriate or legally effective.

Its output does not replace the judgment of a qualified legal professional where professional review is required.

6. Your documents and permissions

You retain your rights in the documents and content you use with TidyDraft.

Using the add-on does not transfer ownership of your agreements to TidyDraft.

You authorise the access and processing required to deliver the features you choose to use, subject to Google’s permission system and our Privacy & Data policy.

You remain responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to process a document, including documents containing personal data or third-party confidential information.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse TidyDraft, interfere with its operation, compromise its security or use it for unlawful purposes.

You must not attempt to access information or systems without authorisation.

Good-faith beta testing and responsible reporting of product issues are permitted.

8. Third-party services

TidyDraft depends on Google Docs and related Google services.

Your use of those services remains subject to their applicable terms, permissions and technical requirements.

TidyDraft’s availability and functionality may be affected by changes, restrictions or outages in third-party services.

TidyDraft is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

9. Availability and warranties

We aim to make TidyDraft useful and reliable, but the private beta is provided for evaluation and testing.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every document, or correction of every numbering or structural issue.

Some operations may produce partial document changes before an error occurs.

TidyDraft does not guarantee automatic rollback.

You should review important documents and retain an appropriate recovery option, including Google Docs version history where available.

Except to the extent required by applicable law, TidyDraft is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis during the beta.

10. Limitation of liability

TidyDraft is provided as a private beta for evaluation and testing.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TidyDraft and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or opportunity arising from the use of, or inability to use, TidyDraft.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, liability for losses arising from beta errors, incomplete or unsupported formatting corrections, document changes, service interruptions, compatibility issues, or failures affecting Google Docs or other third-party services is excluded, subject to any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You remain responsible for reviewing changes to your documents before relying on them, including changes to numbering, cross-references, clause order and overall document accuracy.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

11. Termination and access

You may stop using TidyDraft at any time and may revoke its permissions through the applicable Google account controls.

We may restrict, suspend or discontinue access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, suspected unauthorised activity, security concerns, technical issues, legal or regulatory requirements, or the end of the beta programme.

Where reasonably practicable, notice will be provided by email or through the website. In urgent circumstances, suspension may take effect immediately.

Ending or suspending access does not necessarily delete all diagnostic, registration or support information immediately. Information handling and deletion are addressed in the Privacy & Data policy.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination, including those addressing responsibility for documents, liability and disputes, will continue to apply where legally enforceable.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any overriding mandatory laws.

If a dispute arises, the parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve it through direct discussion.

If the dispute cannot be resolved within a reasonable period, it may be brought before the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, or another court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as TidyDraft develops.

The effective date will identify the current version.

Where material changes are made, we will provide notice by email or through the website where required.

Where applicable, continued use of TidyDraft after the revised Terms take effect will constitute acceptance, subject to any requirement for renewed consent or agreement under applicable law.
